Questions that had to be answered…
1) As models and actors what are we expected to do to participate?
A) Be between the ages of 18 and 28 years of age and be passionate about your craft (modeling or acting). We do not charge you for creating footage for you.
B) Submit to our email address your photos (head and body shots), for actor include a demo and/or a video recorded monologue (that may be done using a simple webcam or cam quarter). For large files use Yousendit.com (their free and safe), if your audition is a successful one, we will contact you.
C) After being contacted; we will need to help you in putting together a presentation and entertaining demonstration of your skills. Your presentation will consist of you introducing yourself discussing your career or developing career, training, and making reference to your demos (which will run at your queue), video recorded monologues (which will run at your queue). This is your chance to entertain your audience while introducing yourself and your work.
D) We may need to rerecord your monologue; you can complete that task yourself or work with us on scheduling a recording for you. Your monologue is your chance to show your ability to entertain. We suggest selecting a monologue that fits your passion and depicts and event that your audience can relate to. It may fall under any genre (drama, horror, or comedy). Go with what comes natural to you, after you have built an audience then try new things. We allow you to perform as many as 3 monologues. Here is your chance to see firsthand how an audience responds to your performances; take pleasure in your performance it should not be all work. If after a period of time it is not working, don’t worry about that you can try other things introducing new footage.
E) Some models do not have video recorded modeling shoots or shows. In that case schedule a shoot with us and we will complete that requirement with you. If you would like to complete that on your own that’s fine also.
F) We will need to record your introduction remarks that fall between your presented items, and concluding remarks. That can be recorded by you or schedule a recording with us. You must write that yourself, keeping in mind that this is an opportunity to sell yourself as well as entertain. That does not mean that everyone has to be a comedian; stick to your own idea of how you would like to present yourself as an actor or model.
G) This is of course the short version, we will work with you on an individual bases each step of the way.
H) After completing the items in number three we will take that footage edit, enhance, and add music where appropriate. When your scene is complete we will forward it to you for your approval. Given your approval we will air the final version.
I) This simply gets you started as we move along we will continuously be scheduling new shoots with you to rerecord what you have or introduce new material; Also, shooting more scripted materials.
2) How will the site be advertised and marketed when it is completed?
A) Many of our entertainers have existing fan bases that we expect will want to see their performances on the new site. Most of those entertainers will be posting links to the site on their websites to ensure that their fans are informed of the entertainment opportunity now available to them.
B) All of our entertainers will be given personalized business cards with the site address printed on them. It is in the talents best interest to ensure that their fans, friends, co-worker, business contacts, and family members are aware of their performances.
C) Our budget includes a considerable amount of funds for Search Engine Optimization expenses and online banner ads; with a focus on online entertainment.
D) Our parent companies, Monitor Media LLC will of course continue in the search for new talent and market the site though its established channels.
E) Having said that we’re not looking for overnight success; it may take time. Our number one objective at this point is to ensure that we have talented individuals and produce a good show.
3) How are meeting times arranged and executed?
A) Meetings, times, and places are completely up to the Participant and Member established thru lines of communications they have arranged after the participant has completed the initial interview using our private email system. We strongly recommend that our Talent be escorted by friends, family members, or security (if they do not have security they need only to let us know and we will provide security for them) when they meet with fans or Non-established Entertainment Industry persons. That additional cost should be reflected in their bid minimums. Meetings have a standard one hour minimum, unless one or both parties forfeit the meeting early; in that circumstance the member may receive partial credit to their account if the Participant agrees to do so.
B) When meeting with fans our suggested best approach is to have the event video recorded (or at the very least partially recorded) and added to the talents segment online. Our production team and editors will do a great job of making an interesting event of it for your audience.
C) Should at any time prior to a meeting the Participant or the Member decides not to proceed with the engagement they do have that right and without penalty.
4) Why do we (the talent) get paid when clicked on and by whom? Is it because there is a product we are featuring as “product placement?” Or is it simply because we are interesting actors/models/industry people? If the latter is the case, I don’t understand what the incentive is for people to “bid.” For that matter, why would people want to bid to meet us?
A) We pay the talent when their clicked on because being selected by audience members is an indication to us that the entertainer has done their job. The audience is rewarding not us but them for a job well done by expending their purchased site credits to see that performance. The talent has managed to create enough interest in them to warrant an audience member’s attention.
B) When talent is paid for product placement that is in addition to what they would ordinary earn. Placing ads directly in the talents segment may be arranged by us or the talent; either way the revenues generated by the advertisement come in addition to their basic pay-per-click earnings.
C) Being an interesting actor, model, or industry person is certainly the key to being successful here. Getting known for having that talent is what many of our entertainers will accomplish here.
D) The Internet Audience is larger than most of us care to imagine, and the ability of an entertainer to capture one audience member can easily become a million. We have done our best to encourage talented individuals with energy, charisma, appeal, and intelligence that will shine though on photos and WebPages to apply for parts on our site. On the internet there is no such thing as a captive audience they’ve got less than a second to attract an audience member’s attention and less than 5 minutes to make a fan of them. That’s not an easy job, but there are plenty of entertainers that can and will do it. We will do all that we can to support them and make the effort worthwhile for them.
E) When an individual masters, completes, or performs at a level that few have been able to achieve people want to meet that person; that’s just a fact of life. This meeting may be via email, telephone, or face to face. Great people don’t get up in the morning and say to themselves what a great person I am. We say that, and we want to meet them due to their mastering of their craft. Just as they (great people) have folks they would like to meet also. Some of you have fan bases and others will build them. Either way you will have to deal with the fact that people will want to meet you. We have set-up the email system and bidding system to deal with that phenomenon; after all, the internet’s greatest strength is that it’s an interactive communication forum.
5) Are charity events and fund raisers allowed to participate?
A) We strongly encourage these organizations to participate. Talent participating on behave of these organizations may be temporary or long term. The proceeds from their bids, as with all bid contracts, are distributed in the manner in which the Participant indicates and in the percentage indicated.
B) Their events may also be private. As with all Participants they may select the range of audience members that are able to bid for a meeting. For example: Participants may outline areas of interest such as; must be a student of the university, must be an employee of ABC company, must be in the Entertainment Industry, etc.
6) What in the program is good for models, actors, students, and business professionals?
A) We assign Marketing Professionals to help in developing the strengths of each of our Participants pages; Ensuring that they are depicted in the best possible manner and most appealing fashion; when your marketability increases so does other aspects of your career.
B) Whether they meet with audience members are not their presents and minimal participation will produce a substantial monthly income for them. We appreciate the participation of our contracted individuals; in turn we provide a forum where they may share with others and be rewarded without exhausting their time.
7) It seems too good to be true that we would be paid just to post videos as there are many sites out there where actors are charged to post their demos etc. This is why it leads me to ask if these are videos made with product placement in mind because to me, that would make sense. If there’s a client who is paying money to have us place their product in our videos and we then get paid by your company, then I get it…otherwise I don’t understand why you need us to generate traffic to the site.
A) There are two kinds of websites present on the internet those that are there to inform you of their products or services in hopes that you will do business with them (some of them also place paid ads on their sites for additional income). And those that publish content for entertainment proposes to increase their traffic and sell advertising space. There’s also the search engine community that have the same objective to increase traffic and sell advertising space.
B) I understand that sometimes these lines may become a little fuzzy but the bottom-line is high traffic means advertising dollars.
C) There are those specialized sites like the casting call sites that earn all their fees from entertainers, porn sites that earn all their fees from viewers (they do very well on the web BTW, better than they have been able to do in any other medium), and dating sites that earn all their fees from members, but their revenues are manor on the internet when compared to those the aim for advertising dollars.
D) Ad dollars follow large audiences, large audiences follow good entertainment. Good entertainers produce good entertainment. You don’t have to be a Porn Star to earn an income on the web and you’re not going to earn one by giving high traffic sites your best material for free.
E) Work with us, create new good stuff, get paid to present it, the Entertainment Industry will get to know you the way you got to know them. It’s not who you know it’s who knows you. It cost money to stay in the game, build a revenue stream wherever you can. You’re an Artist but you’re a brand first, because if you’re not a brand you can never be a paid Artist. Brands don’t pay to be consumed they get paid for being consumed.
F) I can name over 100 actors that could sell a professionally video recorded monologue before you knew their names, and I bet you can too; that’s all our entertainers are asked to do; present themselves and their best work.
Send us an email at Tmitchell@MonitormediaLLC.com with your resume and photos to apply. Selected individuals will be contacted in a timely manner with the terms of our contractual agreement. |
